The MLS All-Star Game presented by Target, in the end, is about entertainment. I’m not sure there’s a single more entertaining event in a Major League Soccer game at this moment than Ruan torching some poor defender who’s just trying to go about his day. While there’s no real way to know outside of getting the candidates together for a 100-meter dash, Ruan is very possibly the fastest player in the league. You can’t tell me you don’t want to see him running full speed ahead at Jose Gimenez.
Ruan’s speed has translated statistically as well. He ranks in the top ten in MLS in big chances created with six and is tied with Nani for the team lead in successful dribbles with 21.
