Orlando City Faces Two-Week Break Before Hosting Crew SC

Two Week Break Crew

Following a hard-fought 0-0 draw against FC Dallas, Orlando City now turns its focus to the final two matches of the 2017 regular season - a home match versus Columbus Crew SC and a road fixture in Philadelphia.

“We’re going to approach those last two games very seriously,” Lions midfielder Servando Carrasco said. “We want to win at home and we want to win at [Philadelphia Union]. Nothing changes. First and foremost, we’ll take these next few days to recover and then we’ll get ready for those last two games.”

Orlando City players now have two weeks to properly recover and go over all preparations heading into the final two matches of 2017. The Lions’ next match is on Oct. 15 at home against Columbus.

“We have to move on,” Jonathan Spector said after Saturday’s draw. “We’ve got a little break now, so we’ll try to enjoy that and work on some things that we need to.”

Spector also commented on how his team will approach the final two matches of the season:

“We have to put in performances that we can be proud of, that our fans can be proud of, and continue to build for next season.”

It’s still mathematically possible for Orlando City to sneak into the postseason, and, regardless of other teams’ results, the Lions still have their pride and dignity to play for as the 2017 regular season winds down.
