Orlando City begins its three-match homestand this Wednesday against the New England Revolution. This will be the first time the Lions face the Revs at Orlando City Stadium.
Hereâs what you should know about Cityâs next opponent:
Recent Form
The Revolution (11-14-5, 38 points) beat Toronto FC last time out thanks to a towering Kei Kamara header. The match was scoreless before the 81st minute, but late drama at Gillette Stadium saw the Revs edge Toronto, 2-1.
Before the home win vs. TFC, New England fell in two consecutive road matches - first to Atlanta, then losing out to Sporting Kansas City.
Whoâs Hot
Kei Kamara up top and Lee Nguyen in the number ten role are the primary danger men for the Revs. These players like to combine in and around the penalty box, where Kamaraâs aerial presence and Nguyenâs quick feet can create problems for opposing defenses. If the Lions can slow these two down and put pressure on other players to step, it may bode well for the home side.
Whoâs Not
It has been a struggle to score away from home for New England, who has been outscored 11-1 in its last three road matches.
New Englandâs 0-12-3 road record is the worst in Major League Soccer. With their next road fixture against a Lions team hungry for a win in front of their home fans, it wonât get any easier for the Revs this Wednesday night.
Head-to-Head
Orlando City fell to the Revolution at Gillette Stadium in the teamsâ only meeting of the season thus far.. Since entering MLS in 2015, City has beaten the Revs once, drawn three and lost twice.
