Orlando City Prepared for Another Short Turnaround

Short Turnaround Houston

As the Lions travel from Toronto to Houston on Thursday, the team is preparing for yet another quick turnaround with a match this Saturday night in Houston. It seems their performance against Toronto was something to build on.

“I think we came out a little sluggish but our response in the second half was much better,” said midfielder Servando Carassco. “I think we have to focus on that, we have a game in three days so we have to recover quickly.”

Orlando City’s mid-week match against Toronto was its first of the season. Previously all its games were on the weekend. The Lions only had a three-day break, which may have caused the slow start.

“I think it’s tough, the three-day break, but also we have a great group of guys, who are willing to fight and work for each other,” said defender Tommy Redding. “We’re all really focused on getting three points this week.”

Houston is undefeated at home this season with four wins and a draw at BBVA Compass Stadium, but defense has been a weakness for the Dynamo.

Orlando City’s offense has hit full form with the return of Kaká, who has scored in his first two games back from injury. Forward Cyle Larin assisted on Kaká’s goal against Toronto and nearly scored two of his own.

Orlando City will be looking to regain its momentum against Houston.

“We don’t want to end the road trip with nothing,” Redding said. “So, we’re going to go there and give our hearts.”
