Bedoya Could Be In Talks To Join the Union


The Philadelphia Union are in advanced talks to bring U.S Men’s National Team Midfielder Alejandro Bedoya to MLS. Bedoya has 53 caps and two goals with the United States, but has spent his club career playing throughout Europe, including playing for his current French club, Nantes. The addition of Bedoya would strengthen the Union’s midfield as they seek to make a run for the playoffs.


CONCACAF Champions League Kicks Off


Tuesday night marks the return of CONCACAF Champions League, the biggest international club competition in North America. Five MLS teams will be competing to be the first team in the United States or Canada to win the tournament. The Vancouver Whitecaps, Portland Timbers, Sporting KC, New York Red Bulls, and FC Dallas will be the teams representing MLS. The tournament kicks off Tuesday, August 2nd as the Vancouver Whitecaps take on Central FC at 8:00pm. 


Dax McCarty Out For 4-6 Weeks


New York Red Bulls’ Midfielder Dax McCarty will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a small tibial fracture. He suffered the injury in the Red Bulls’ 2-2 draw against the Chicago Fire on Sunday night, after a rough tackle from Fire midfielder Khlay Thiam. McCarty was replaced by Sean Davis on Sunday and Davis is the leading candidate to take his spot in the starting lineup
