USL Taking Notice of OCB’s Recent Play

Orlando City B just keeps on rolling.


The Lions fought back to earn a 1-1 draw against the Charlotte Independence Saturday, securing their fourth point in two games against Charlotte this season. Zach Hayden found Michael Cox two minutes into the second half for the equalizer and his sixth goal of the season. The Canadian striker took four shots, three of them on target, to earn USL Team of the Week honors.


His team earned similar accolades for the week’s work, coming in at no. 10 in the USL Power Rankings. The Lions are 5-2-3 since the start of May and have won four of their last seven games, picking up points in six of those and climbing to no. 7 in the Eastern Conference.


OCB will look to continue its recent run of form and sweep the season series against the defending champion Rochester Rhinos on July 10. The Lions continue the road trip three days later in Charleston, where they will look repeat their performance from June 11, when they defeated the Battery 2-1 in South Carolina. OCB returns to Titan Soccer Complex in Melbourne on Sunday, July 24, to host the Wilmington Hammerheads.
