DraftKings Players to Watch: Molino's Return Could Mean Big Things

Draftkings molino

This Sunday, Orlando City takes on Real Salt Lake in their season opener. Here is a list of potential impact players to consider for your DraftKings roster.

Haven’t tried DraftKings? It’s easy. Each player is given a fictitious $50,000 to spend on assembling his or her roster. Players’ salaries are determined by their on-field performance, FPPG, or Fantasy Points Per Game. Each roster consists of two forwards, two midfielders, two defenders, a keeper, and one flex spot (any field player).

Orlando City Players to look out for:

Brek Shea- DEF: 6.6 FPPG $3,300-- Brek Shea has performed well in the preseason, moving up and down the line while prioritizing his defensive duties. Last season, Shea had to step up to the left winger position after the injury to Kevin Molino. But with Molino healthy and greater depth overall in the midfield, Shea can go to left back, where Orlando wanted him last season. He says he feels comfortable at left back; look for him to push the line forward and create pressure on Real Salt Lake.

Kevin Molino- MID: 0 FPPG $3,700-- Kevin Molino returns to Orlando City after missing a majority of last season due to a torn ACL. Molino has worked hard in the offseason to get back to peak strength, and Head Coach Adrian Heath feels that Molino is just as good as he was before his injury, if not better. Molino’s minutes increased as the preseason progressed, and he connected with Kaká and Cyle Larin as if he had never left. At $3,700, I would definitely add him to your lineup. Look for him to create many scoring opportunities.

Cyle Larin- FOR: 11.8 FPPG $6,700-- Head Coach Adrian Heath says that Cyle Larin is stronger, faster, and quicker than he was last season. Despite having no goals in the preseason, Larin has worked hard in practice and Coach Heath says he expects him to get 20 goals this season. Look for Larin to challenge defenders and connect with Kaká and Molino to score goals.

Around the League:

Kei Kamara- FOR: 15.1 FPPG $9,800-- Last season, Kei Kamara scored 22 goals in 32 appearances, in addition to eight assists. The imposing forward lead Columbus Crew SC to an Eastern Conference Championship and earned himself the title of team MVP. At $9,800, he is a bit pricey, but look for Kamara to score against Portland this weekend.

Clint Dempsey- MID: 11.7 FPPG $7,200-- Clint Dempsey is a consistent goal scorer for the Seattle Sounders. He scored 10 goals in 20 games last season; look for him to have a strong start against Sporting Kansas City.
