Louisville friendly

Orlando City SCā€™s third friendly of the season against USLā€™s Louisville City FC on Tuesday night drew a near sell-out crowd to Slugger Field with over 9,434 spectatorsā€”a record attendance for the Club.

ā€We knew what it was like when you played a Major League Soccer team, and I thought [Louisville] played really well tonight. We had maybe six young players in their early 20s in the game tonight, and thought they got quality minutes in a well-played game,ā€ said Orlando City Head Coach Adrian Heath. ā€œOverall it was a good night with a fantastic crowd. I was impressed with what [Louisville] has done, and they obviously have a bright future for themselves here as a club.ā€

Cityā€™s young squad took center stage with goalkeeper Earl Edwards, Jr. pulling an impressive performance, making key saves throughout the 90 minutes.  Additional players showcasing for the Lions tonight included Tony Cascio, Tommy Redding, Tyler Turner, Estrela and Bryan RĆ³chez. Darwin Caren, who is among MLSā€™s top statistical midfielders, earned his first Captain assignment. CerĆ©n was joined by Rafael Ramos as the only two regular starters on the roster for the friendly.

Louisville FC pulled through with a 3-1 win for their supporters. Orlando City returns to league play at the Orlando Citrus Bowl to face Chicago Fire on Saturday night.
