Notes: Six Point Swing Against Red Bulls; Young Guns vs. West Brom

Notes RB WB

Three Games In Seven Days Concludes With Big Matchup

After Saturday’s game, six points for the Lions this week are out the question. But Saturday’s Eastern Conference matchup with the New York Red Bulls offers Orlando City another chance for three points, while also an opportunity to keep the second-place team from picking up points themselves.

So essentially, this Saturday’s game is another chance for six points towards a playoff spot.

“They’re all important at this stage. We want to win all our games, especially home games. We want to make it a fortress like we have done in the past few games. [NYRB] are in our conference and it’s more of a six-pointer when it comes down to it,” said defender Seb Hines after training on Monday.

The Lions just had a “bad day at the office” against FC Dallas, according to Adrian Heath. Simply put, the team was flat. With such a crucial home game against a conference foe on Saturday, Heath is sure the team will come out firing on all cylinders.

“The one thing I can guarantee is that we will be a little bit more energetic on Saturday. I can guarantee that.”

Youngsters To Get Time Against EPL Side West Bromwich Albion

Before the Orlando City faces the Red Bulls on Saturday, the Lions will host English Premier League side West Brom at the Citrus Bowl on Wednesday. For Heath, it’s a chance to get his team their legs back under them. For some of the younger players, it’s a chance at some valuable minutes and to see some players in the world’s best league up close and personal.

“The people who haven’t played will play,” said Heath. “There’s a lot of people like Tommy Redding who will get some time.”

Other youngsters like Harrison Heath, Tyler Turner, and Estrela also figure to be part of the lineup, but only the Gaffer knows for sure. With so many younger players in the lineup, it will be up to the veterans to help show them the ropes.

“Whoever plays out there, I’m sure they will give 110%. I can only guide them and help them do what I can to make it easy as possible for them,” said Hines.
