Goalkeeper Josh Ford Loaned to Fort Lauderdale Strikers for Remainder of the Season

ORLANDO – July 8, 2015 – Orlando City SC has loaned goalkeeper Josh Ford to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers of the North American Soccer League (NASL) for the remainder of the season the Club announced today.

Ford, who was originally loaned to the Strikers for a short period of time on May 29, 2015, had his loan extended after impressive performances with the Club.

"We think this is a great opportunity for Josh to get valuable playing time not too far away," said General Manager Paul McDonough. "Obviously, with the veteran goalkeepers that we have such as Tally Hall and Donovan Ricketts, it's been tough for him to see time here. The extension in his loan will allow him to continue playing regularly."

The Liverpool, New York native has yet to make an appearance for the Lions this season. Ford was originally drafted by Orlando City with the 20th selection in the second stage of the MLS re-entry draft earlier this year. Prior to signing with City, Ford spent four seasons with Seattle Sounders FC, including a loan spell with USL side Orange County Blues, after a standout career at the University of Connecticut.
