Orlando City Youth Soccer (OCYS) is proud to announce that U15 Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) Goalkeeper Brooke Bollinger will join the U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team (USWNT) on its first international trip to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. The week-long training camp runs until September 4, including multiple friendlies against the host nation.

Bollinger was thrilled about her selection for the overseas journey, commenting “I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity, and I am very excited to represent OCYS at the National Team level in North Korea.”

Recently joining OCYS from Space Coast United (SCU), Bollinger has already compiled several noteworthy accomplishments in her budding career. During her time with SCU, Bollinger was named to the All-Star Team for the 2013 U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) Thanksgiving Interregional and was the only player named to the U15 USWNT Training Camp in January. In April, Bollinger was also invited by the U.S. Soccer Federation to participate at the U.S. Soccer Training Center, a facility that provides an opportunity for youth players to be coached by the National Team technical staff.

“I chose Orlando City because of the ECNL team, which is the most competitive and challenging level of play,” added Bollinger. “Also, I chose this team because of the newly hired goalkeeper coach, Chris Barocas, whose technical coaching style will help me reach my potential and achieve my goals moving forward,” explained Bollinger.

Although Bollinger has only recently joined OCYS’ ECNL team, her contribution is greatly anticipated. Senior Girls’ Director of Coaching, Alan Hough, had nothing but kind words about his new goalkeeper.

“Brooke will immediately impact our club from a goalkeeping standpoint,” said Hough. “Anytime someone with a pedigree like Brooke’s joins a club it is a good thing.  She has a presence about her and a work ethic that is very high, which are two of the best assets a coach could hope for in a goalkeeper in my opinion,” added Hough.
