Orlando, Fla.- This year’s edition of the World Cup provided the perfect backdrop for the launch of season ticket sales for the 2015 Major League Soccer (MLS) debut of Orlando City Soccer.  Special World Cup pricing, introduced on the first day of the quadrennial global phenomenon, ended at midnight on July 15 with calls coming into the Club’s office to the last minute.  Fan response was overwhelming, resulting in approximately 7,500 season tickets sold – more than half the anticipated season ticket capacity.

“What has become most apparent over the past month is that Orlando is the ‘Soccer Capital of the South,’ ” said Orlando City President Phil Rawlins. “Between the incredible response to our season ticket special to the more than 30,000 fans who attended the Wall Street watch parties, including the 11,000 who were there to welcome Kaká.  Add to that the unprecedented viewership numbers for the World Cup in this market and there is no denying the strong passion for professional soccer in the City Beautiful.”

The Club expects to cap season ticket sales at approximately 14,000 seats, in order to provide a seamless transition for fans from the Orlando Citrus Bowl to City’s new downtown stadium in 2016.  Thus far, season ticket sales have occurred throughout all seating sections, including strong interest in Club level.

2015 Orlando City Soccer MLS season tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling an Orlando City Ticket Representative at 855-ORL-CITY or by visiting www.OrlandoCitySC.com.  It is important to note, Season Ticket Members will have priority seating for City’s new downtown stadium in 2016.
