Maxim Makes His Mark

Orlando City Academy goalkeeper Luca Maxim made his first two career starts for Orlando City B in a pair of road matches. The young goalkeeper debuted in OCB’s May 10 win over Atlanta United 2, delivering a composed performance with three saves to earn a clean sheet in his first professional start. Maxim followed with another start on May 17 against New England Revolution II, making two saves and conceding once in a 1-0 loss.

First Time Held Scoreless

Orlando City B was held scoreless for the first time in the 2026 season in its May 17 match against New England Revolution II, marking the club’s first shutout since Sept. 21, 2025 against Huntsville City FC. Despite the result, OCB has remained productive in the attacking third this season, totaling 19 goals in 2026, which ranks sixth in the Eastern Conference.

Familiar Foes

Orlando City B returns home to face in-state rival Inter Miami CF II on Sunday, May 24, marking the second meeting between the sides this season. In their previous matchup at Inter&Co Stadium, the teams played to a 4-4 draw, with the Lions claiming the extra point in the end-of-regulation shootout by converting four penalties to Miami’s two. Orlando City B holds a 4W-5L-5D all-time record against the Herons entering the match.

Haruna’s Recent Form

Midfielder Issah Haruna has scored in two of the Lions’ last three matches, contributing to the attack during a strong recent run. He opened his account in Orlando City B’s 2-2 draw with Crown Legacy FC on May 3, then added another in the club’s May 10 win over Atlanta United 2, finishing a chance created by Orlando City SC forward Harvey Sarajian. The goals marked the first two of his professional career, coming in just his fifth and sixth starts for the Lions.
