Purple Pipeline

On Tuesday, Orlando City B signed Academy midfielder Dylan Judelson to an MLS NEXT Pro contract through 2027. At just 17 years old, Judelson becomes the latest Lion to rise through the Club’s development pathway, beginning with his time at Orlando City Soccer School Seminole and now earning a professional deal. The Orlando native has quickly built an impressive résumé, including six competitive appearances for Canada’s youth national teams at the U-15 and U-17 levels. He played a key role in Orlando City Academy’s U-18 Generation adidas Cup title run earlier this season and recently captained the East squad in the MLS NEXT All-Star Game in Austin. Judelson has made 13 appearances for the Lions during the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season.

Charging Forward

In last Sunday’s match against New York City FC II, Orlando City midfielder Shak Mohammed added to his season tally with his eighth goal of the 2025 campaign. His 87th-minute finish not only reclaimed the club lead for goals scored this season but also marked his 25th career goal for Orlando City B across all competitions. Since the start of the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season, Mohammed’s 25 goals lead all Orlando City B players, placing him two ahead of former Lion Jack Lynn, who sits second with 23.

Playoff Push

With just eight games remaining in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season, including Saturday’s matchup against Chattanooga FC, Orlando City B is officially in playoff contention. The Lions currently sit in 10th place in the Eastern Conference with 26 points, just two points shy of eighth place and a postseason berth. A win on Saturday would lift Orlando above the playoff cut-off line and into the top eight. Looking ahead, the Lions have a favorable schedule, with five of their final seven matches, including four of the next five, coming against teams currently in the bottom five of the Eastern Conference standings. Orlando City B has qualified for the MLS NEXT Pro playoffs in each of the past two seasons and is aiming for a third consecutive appearance.

Third Time’s The Charm

Saturday evening’s Eastern Conference clash between Orlando City B and Chattanooga FC marks the third and final meeting between the two sides in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season. The division rivals split the first two matchups, with the home team winning each time. Their first encounter came in early April at Finley Stadium, where Chattanooga earned a 2-0 victory. In June, the Lions responded with a 2-1 win at Osceola County Stadium. With playoff positioning and the season series on the line, Saturday’s match is set to be a pivotal moment for Orlando City B as they head into the final stretch of the regular season.
