Nabi Strikes Again

Defender Nabi Kibunguchy made an impact in the Orlando City B attack once again at the midweek, scoring OCB’s fourth goal on the night in the Club’s matchup with New England Revolution II. Kibunguchy’s tally was his fourth of the season and his second in as many matches, scoring the equalizer in the Lions’ draw with intrastate rivals Inter Miami CF II.

Seconds to Strike

Orlando City midfielder Favian Loyola barely stepped onto the field Wednesday night before making his impact on the game. Loyola subbed into the match in the 68th minute and scored OCB’s third goal just 29 seconds later. Loyola got his head onto a cross from forward Wilfredo Rivera for the goal, with Rivera himself entering the match just 177 seconds before his assist.

Last Time vs. The Pigeons

Last time out against Sunday’s opposition the Lions took two of the three points in the end-of-regulation shootout, with the two sides playing to a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes. OCB saw a brace from defender Nabi Kibunguchy in the 21st and 26th minute, the latter being assisted by Cristian Medina. City conquered the Pigeons in the end, taking the shootout point by an 8-7 scoreline.

Pushing for Playoffs

With six matches remaining in the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro regular season heading into matchday 22, Orlando City B currently sits two points above the playoff line in the Eastern Conference in fifth place and second in the Central Division behind division leaders Columbus Crew 2. The Lions are pushing for their first MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs appearance after falling short of qualification last season.
