Braces for the Kids

In Orlando City B’s last match against New York City FC II, Orlando City forwards Jack Lynn and Shak Mohammed both bagged braces for themselves on the night, with Lynn scoring in the 62nd and 80th minutes and Mohammed striking in the 6th and 87th respectively. Their tallies brought Lynn’s total up 14, with Mohammed rising up to four so far this campaign.

Race for the Golden Boot

Orlando City forward Jack Lynn once again finds himself in the thick of the race for the MLS NEXT Pro Golden Boot. Lynn has compiled 14 goals so far in league play in 2023 and currently sits just two tallies back from Matt Myers’ 16 goals for NYCFC II this season. The St. Louis, Mo. Native scored 15 goals in his first MLS NEXT Pro season.

Pushing for Playoffs

With five matches remaining in the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro regular season heading into matchday 24, Orlando City B currently sits four points above the playoff line in the Eastern Conference in fifth place and second in the Central Division behind division leaders Columbus Crew 2. The Lions are pushing for their first MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs appearance after falling short of qualification last season.

Don’t Call it a Comeback

The Lions pulled out a win in their last match against New York City FC II despite going down 3-1 just after the halftime break. OCB continued to fight throughout the match, slowly chipping away at NYCFC II’s lead until Shak Mohammed capped off his brace in the 87th minute for the game-winning goal and all three points against the Pigeons.
