KISSIMMEE, Fla. (June 28, 2023) – Orlando City B (7-6-2, 24 points) fell 3-0 against Philadelphia Union II (5-8-3, 20 points) at Osceola County Stadium on Wednesday night. For the Lions it was their first loss at home all season.

The visitors struck early, taking advantage of their high defensive press to score through Chris Donovan in the 11th and 21st minutes, before the match entered a 101-minute delay due to inclement weather just before halftime. Following the delay and halftime break, OCB pressed the issue to create chances and shots at leveling, but were unable to break through the Union defense with Union II adding tallying once more in the 86th minute.

City will now head back out on the road for a matchup with FC Cincinnati 2 at Northern Kentucky University Soccer Stadium on Sunday, July 2. That match is set to kickoff at 7 p.m. ET on MLSNEXTPro.com.

Scoring Summary:

11’ Chris Donovan (Juan Castillo) – PHI 1, ORL 0
The visitors got on the board early as Juan Castillo dribbled down the touchline, playing a ball in over the top for Chris Donovan. Donovan picked up the pass and fired a low ball into the back of the City to net to open up the scoring.

Union II struck again just 10 minutes later with the visiting side pressing high up the field defensively. Chris Donovan ended up forcing a turnover deep in the Lions’ territory before hitting a low ball past Javier Otero for his second of the game.

86’ David Vazquez (Stefan Stojanovic) – PHI 3, ORL 0
