ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 12, 2026) – Orlando City B announced today the acquisition of forward Pedro Leão from CR Flamengo’s U-20 side of the CBF Brasileiro U20. The Brazilian striker is set to join OCB’s roster for the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season, pending receipt of his ITC and P-1 Visa.
“Pedro is an exciting young talent who is coming from the youth system of one of the biggest clubs in the World. This move gives him the perfect platform to continue his development while bringing valuable youth experience from his time in Flamengo’s academy,” said Orlando City SC General Manager & Sporting Director Ricardo Moreira. “His technical ability and competitive mindset will strengthen our squad and set the stage for future growth.”
A product of the CR Flamengo Academy, Leão made his debut for Flamengo U-20 on Aug. 14, 2024, in a 2-0 win over Red Bull Bragantino U-20. Since making his debut, the Brazilian forward has appeared in 40 matches for the Rio de Janeiro-based side, scoring 20 goals and providing six assists in over 3,000 minutes played. He has also claimed one title for the U-20s, winning the Under-20 Intercontinental Cup in the 2024-2025 edition of the tournament.
Leão has previously featured three times in international friendlies for Brazil’s U-16 National Team, providing three assists in those matches for the Seleção U-16s.
