KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Sept. 3, 2023) – Orlando City B (12-10-3, 40 points) fell to Crown Legacy FC (17-4-4, 58 points) via a 6-3 scoreline on Sunday, September 3, at Osceola County Stadium in a high-scoring match.

The visitors held control for most of the match, scoring four goals in the first half with two coming just before the halftime break. Despite Crown Legacy adding a further two tallies in the second half the Lions continued fighting to get back in the match and found success through set piece opportunities.

Orlando City forward Jack Lynn struck in the 58th minute on a corner kick while lurking at the back post, before striking again in the 70th minute with a header from near the top of the box. Moises Tablante, who served in both crosses from the corner on Lynn’s goals, struck a banger from outside the 18 into the top-right corner of the net for OCB’s third of the night and his fourth of 2023.

Lynn’s goals on the night served as his 16th and 17th tallies of the campaign respectively. Lynn now finds himself leading the race for MLS NEXT Pro’s Golden Boot, tied on 17 with NYCFC II’s Matt Myers. The St. Louis native has totaled 32 goals across two seasons for OCB.

The Lions will next travel to take on New England Revolution II at Gillette Stadium on Thursday, September 7. That match is set to kickoff at 6 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

Scoring Summary:

13’ Iuri Tavares (Patrick Agyemang) – CLT 1, ORL 0
The visitors got things started against the run of play, following a string of attacks from Orlando City B. Iuri Tavares challenged for a 50/50 ball played into the area just outside the Lions’ box by Patrick Agyemang and firing a screamer into the top left corner of the net off the half-volley to open things up on the night.

28’ Nicholas Scardina – CLT 2, ORL 0
15 minutes after tallying their first, Crown Legacy would add another off of a set-piece opportunity, playing a corner short to Thiago from the left-hand corner flag. Thiago sent a low cross through the middle, with his ball being deflected through to the far side of the box where Nicholas Scardina ran onto it and smacked it first time into the top left corner of the OCB goal.

44’ João Guilherme – CLT 3, ORL 0
Crown Legacy added a third near the end of the first half, with João Guilherme getting on the end of a deflected cross, powering it past Javier Otero and into the net.

45+1’ Patrick Agyemang (Markó Filipovic) – CLT 4, ORL 0
The visitors struck once more in the first half, this time in first-half stoppage time. Markó Filipovic turned provider for Crown Legacy just minutes after subbing into the match for Thiago. Filipovic played a ball down the left flank for Patrick Agyemang who carried it forward and struck for their fourth of the night.

58’ Jack Lynn – CLT 4, ORL 1
The Lions got one back in the second half after Jack Lynn entered the match as a substitute during the halftime break. Moises Tablante played an inswinger across the box on a corner kick, with the initial ball finding its way through towards the back post on a clearance attempt. Jack Lynn was waiting and immediately slid the ball in for the goal.

61’ Iuri Tavares (David Poreba) – CLT 5, ORL 1
Crown Legacy struck again just three minutes later with Iuri Tavares finding his second of the match for the brace after David Poreba slid the ball back to him at the top of the OCB box for the first-time shot with his left foot.

67’ Nikola Petkovic (Iuri Tavares) – CLT 6, ORL 1
Adding another six minutes later, Iuri Tavares turned provider, playing a ball in for midfielder Nikola Petkovic. Petkovic caught OCB goalkeeper Javier Otero off his line and found the back of the net for Legacy’s sixth goal of the match.

70’ Jack Lynn (Moises Tablante) – CLT 6, ORL 2
The Lions got another back, yet again on the corner kick. Moises Tablante hit an outswinger this time around, finding forward Jack Lynn once more, with Lynn powering in a header for OCB’s second of the match.

74’ Moises Tablante – CLT 6, ORL 3
The Lions kept fighting, scoring their third of the night just four minutes later with Moises Tablante doing the finishing this time.
