Facundo Torres will join Orlando City preseason camp after his recent call up to the Uruguay National Team for two CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers.
Uruguay will face Paraguay on January 27th and will then face Venezuela on February 1st. Uruguay currently sits in 7th place in the CONMEBOL Qualification table on 16 points just one point back from a top-five spot that could earn them a place in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
On the international stage, Torres has made 10 appearances for La Celeste, mainly coming off the bench in Copa America and Conmebol World Cup Qualifying matches.
Orlando City Homegrowns Michael Halliday and Thomas Williams were called up today for the United States U-20 January Training Camp. Halliday and Williams are two of 26 players called up by Head Coach Mikey Varas. The team will train from Jan. 24-Feb. 2 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. as it continues preparations for this summer’s Concacaf U-20 Championship, which will serve as qualification to the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2024 Summer Olympics.
