Orlando City SC (7-11-1, 22 points) travels to take on Columbus Crew SC (8-6-7, 30 points) on Saturday, July 21. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at MAPFRE Stadium.

“[Columbus has] very good players, all have good understanding of attacking and defensive transition, good discipline. They’re a good team,” Lions head coach James O’Connor said. “When you look at the players they have, they’ve got multiple players that can cause problems. They’ve got some very good players, but so do we. It makes for a great game tomorrow.”

The Lions enter the match following Wednesday’s U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinal loss at Philadelphia. In its last league match, Orlando City defeated the reigning MLS Cup champion Toronto FC 2-1. Chris Schuler scored his first goal as a Lion before Dom Dwyer scored the eventual game-winner in the 48th minute. Goalkeeper Earl Edwards, Jr. made three saves to earn his first career MLS victory.

Dwyer leads the Lions with his eight goals and Chris Mueller and Yoshimar Yotún are tied for the team lead with five assists.

Columbus has lost four of its last five games, including a 2-0 loss to New York City FC on July 14. Jesus Medina scored in the 80th minute before Anton Tinnerholm scored in the 90th. Columbus’ Eduardo Sosa was shown a straight red card in second-half stoppage time.

Gyasi Zardes is tied for third in MLS with 11 goals. Federico Higuain leads the team with seven assists.

This will be the first of two meetings between the two clubs this season. Crew SC visits Orlando City Stadium in the regular-season home finale on Oct. 21.
