U.S Men’s National Team Beats Honduras, Gears Up For Panama

Bruce Arena made a statement in his first match back as the Head Coach of the U.S Men’s National Team. The U.S earned a kept a clean sheet and scored six goals against Honduras in their victory on Friday night. Now, they’re looking ahead to Panama. The U.S currently sits in the 4th slot in the Hex-- the top three teams will qualify for the World Cup and the 4th place team will play an inter-confederation playoff for a spot. For the United States, a strong win over Honduras was just the ticket they needed to lift their spirits and their confidence.


Bastian Schweinsteiger arrives in Chicago 

Bastian Schweinsteiger, who has appeared in three World Cup’s for Germany, will be arriving in Chicago on Tuesday night and meeting with the media on Wednesday. Schweinsteiger joined MLS last week, when he was acquired by the Chicago Fire from Premier League side Manchester United. Prior to joining Manchester, he had only ever played for Bayern Munich-- where, amongst other things, he won UEFA Champions League and 8 Bundesliga titles. The 32-year-old midfielder will be eligible to play as early as Saturday, when the Fire host the Montreal Impact.


MLS Power Rankings: Week 4

While only three games occurred this weekend thanks to the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers, the MLS Power Rankings have shifted slightly. Sitting at the top are last year’s Shield Winners, FC Dallas, followed by the Portland Timbers in second and Toronto FC in third. Minnesota United continues to sit at the bottom of the table. The Columbus Crew now sit in 13th, having won their last two, and the Philadelphia Union dropped down to 17th. Orlando City sits at 10th as the league still waits to see what they can do on the road.
