NEW YORK (December 5, 2016) – Major League Soccer announced today that tickets for 2016 MLS Cup, which will feature Toronto FC hosting Seattle Sounders FC, sold out three minutes after going on sale to the general public.
Between Toronto FC’s season ticket holder pre-sale, Seattle Sounders FC’s away game allotment of tickets and the public on-sale today at 1:00 p.m. ET, all available tickets for Saturday’s MLS Cup have sold out.
If any additional tickets become available, they will be released to the public over the course of the week. Via Ticketmaster, fans are able to leave their phone number and receive a text message if more tickets become available.
The 21st MLS championship game, 2016 MLS Cup, will be played on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario. This is BMO Field’s second time hosting MLS’ championship game (2010). BMO Field will have a capacity of 36,000 for 2016 MLS Cup. The game will be broadcast live on FOX, UniMás, TSN and RDS.
Last year’s championship game was held at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, OH, drawing a sellout crowd of 21,747 to watch the Portland Timbers defeat Columbus Crew SC, 2-1.
