Orlando City and adidas Announce Plans for New Store

adidas partnership

ORLANDO – November 25, 2014 – Orlando City Soccer Club announced today a long-term partnership with adidas whereby the global sports brand will serve as the Lions’ official stadium merchandise retailer.  Through the partnership, adidas will operate Major League Soccer’s (MLS) first in-stadium store starting in 2016 with the opening of Orlando City’s new downtown soccer stadium. adidas will also oversee all stadium merchandise sales at the Orlando Citrus Bowl during the 2015 season.

Starting December 1, special holiday pop-up stores located in Fashion Square Mall and Altamonte Mall will carry official Orlando City merchandise, including the recently revealed 2015 MLS home jersey.  These pop-up stores will be open through the end of the year. Lions’ merchandise will also be available at other retail locations throughout the Central Florida region and via OrlandoCitysSC.com.

“Orlando City is once again raising the bar by becoming the first MLS Club to partner with adidas on a stadium store,” said Club Founder and President Phil Rawlins.  “The marriage of adidas as one of the world’s preeminent soccer brands with Orlando City and our new downtown stadium is further testament to the type of Club we are establishing in the ‘Soccer Capital of the South.’ ”

“Orlando is an incredible soccer city with amazing fans and an exciting team, and we are looking forward to their first game next season” said Ernesto Bruce, director of soccer for adidas America. “We are excited to partner with the Lions to bring a premium retail experience that offers the best and newest gear to its passionate fan base.”

adidas is the official uniform provider of MLS and Orlando City SC.  The Club’s partnership with adidas will also provide significant resources toward Orlando City Youth Soccer and OCSC’s boys’ and girls’ Youth Academies. These resources are part of adidas’ long-standing commitment to grow youth soccer throughout the league.
