On November 5th, Orlando City staff and supporters rolled up their sleeves, grabbed their paint brushes and shared the day with the Pine Hills community and Orlando's Habitat for Humanity chapter.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando Area is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization whose vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando Area is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.
During the day the City group had the opportunity to converse with prospective Habitat homeowners, and also hear success stories from individuals who have completed the program. The team felt how powerful a group of individuals can be when united in cause and focus. The entire group focused their paint skills toward the interior of the house, and learned valuable lessons about how other organizations are behind our mutual cause within the Orlando community.
