Orlando City Development Academy Teams Victorious over the Weekend.

The U14s were a dominating force on Saturday beating the Chargers Soccer Club 7-1. Teammates Jacob Garzon and Allen Seals contributed to the victory as each scored a pair of goals in the game.

Orlando City’s U14s Coach, Darren Powell, spoke about the strong win last Saturday, “The team started a little tentative but once the players settled in, they performed well. This team is progressing and each week we challenge the players to improve on previous performances. As a whole, the team was able to do that this past weekend.”

The U16s played a tough match, tying the Chargers Soccer Club 1-1. The boys were down 1-0 for the first time in a league match this season after the Chargers converted a penalty kick in the first half. But they were able to come back in the second half with a goal from Landen Haig.

While discussing the game, Head Coach Jeff Negalha said, “Although we still need to clean things up in every phase of our play, I thought our boys performed well. After conceding the penalty kick we showed great resolve, character and togetherness. Our goal came off a fantastic sequence and was very well executed.”

The U18s defeated the Chargers 4-0, gaining three points over the weekend. It was a great team effort with the four different players registering on the score sheet. Allan Sexius and Jaiden Fortune scored in the first half, with Benji Michel and Dennis Zapata adding two more in the second.

Commenting on the U18s, Head Coach Paul Shaw said, “They started the game against the Chargers very quickly, putting pressure on their defense early. Allan scored an outstanding individual goal and Jaiden finished off a good team move before halftime. Benji and Dennis added further goals to finish 4-0. Defensively the team performed very strongly and overall it was a dominant performance.”
