City Players and Staff Compete in IDignity's 4th Annual Souper Douper Cook-off

Soup-Off 2014

Last week Orlando City players traded cleats and shin-guards for aprons and spoons, competing in the 4th Annual Souper Douper Fundraiser at the Church Street Ballroom. Players Harrison Heath and Tyler Turner helped distribute samples of  'Pasta e Fagioli' soup that Assistant Coach Ian Fuller carefully crafted.
The event was hosted by IDignity, whose goal is to assist the disadvantaged in Central Florida to navigate the complexities of obtaining their personal identification, such as birth certificates, Florida ID cards and Social Security cards.

The night was a success as IDignity raised over $90,000 that will go toward our mission to restore dignity and hope by providing identification. The success of the night was brought to life by the Soup-off Contestants, Table Hosts, Event Sponsors and the 370 guests in attendance. Each of the soup contestants created not only tasty soups but exciting and unique atmospheres around their station.
Even though the Lions did not win 'Best Soup' award, Chef Ian certainly had fans lining up for his secret recipe.
