Registration is now ON SITE only on Race Day at the corner of Eola and Washington from 4-6. Join thousands of Orlando City fans for the Purple Pride 5K, as we run through downtown Orlando and show off our purple pride. This officially timed 5K race features all of the Orlando City game day festivities including confetti, tailgate games, food trucks and beer! Also, each runner will receive a ticket voucher for City’s opening match on March 6th.
Each runner (ages 21 and over) will receive a drink coupon good for 1 beer at the Heineken beer garden located in the post-race celebration area. In addition, the post-race celebration will include complimentary runner refreshments, food trucks with food for sale, and interactive games and activities for the entire family.

Game Tickets & Additional Game Tickets
Each runner will receive a voucher good for one ticket to the opening match on Sunday, March 6th at 2 pm at the Orlando Citrus Bowl as part of this package. All vouchers will be distributed exclusively as a part of the Packet Pick-Up process. If you do not pick up your packet, you will not receive your voucher(s). Once you complete the registration process, you will have the ability to purchase additional ticket vouchers at a discounted price of $20. The purchase link will be included in your confirmation email.

Costume Contest - NEW in 2016
Think you have more Purple Pride than anyone else? Well, show it off during the Purple Pride 5K and enter our costume contest. Dress up as an individual or create a group costume, and you might just win. The best costume (individual or a group) will win a $50 Academy Sports+Outdoors gift card, an Orlando City prize pack including a replica jersey, and two cases of Heineken beer.
How to enter: If you wish to enter the contest, you must check in between 5 pm and 6:15 pm at the Costume Contest tent, near packet pick-up. We will record your name and race number, and take a photo of your costume. While you are running the race (and yes, you must run the race in your costume) our panel of judges will review the contestants and determine a winner. The winner will be announced at the stage after the race, approximately 7:45 pm.
Packet Pick-Up Information & Policies
In addition to race day, there will be a minimum of 2 additional days and locations of pack pick-up for your convenience. Those details are TBD and will be updated as soon as they are finalized.
You must present a form of government issued photo ID in order to pick up your packet. The only exception to this will be parents picking up packets for their children, however the parent will still need to present a photo ID.
You may pick up a packet for a friend, family member or co-worker, however you must present a written note (email or in handwriting) that indicates you have that permission AND a photocopy of that person’s government issued photo ID.
Packet pick-up may not be available at certain locations, depending on when you register for the race. Here are all the details:
If you registered online before 12:00 pm on Sunday, February 28 – You can pick up your packet any of the days and times listed below.
If you register online between 12:01 pm on Sunday, February 28 and 12:00 pm on Monday, February 29 – Your packet will be available starting Tuesday, March 1 at Academy Sports + Outdoors Kissimmee
If you registered online before 12:00 pm on Monday, February 29 and 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1 – Your packet will be available starting Wednesday, March 2 at Academy Sports+Outdoors Lake Mary.
If you register online between 12:01 pm and 11:59 pm on Tuesday, March 1 – Your packet will be available to be picked up on race day, Thursday, March 3 at Lake Eola.

The first 2,000 registered runners will receive a race t-shirt. (sizes not guaranteed). More than 2,000 runners have registered, shirts are no longer available.
Top 3 Overall Male & Female Winners receive gift cards from Publix, with $250 for first, $150 for second and $100 for third, along with other prizes. In addition, top 3 male and female age group winners will receive gift cards from Academy Sports + Outdoors. Age groups include 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.
Timing & Scoring
Race will be timed and scored with a disposable chip provided, which will be attached to the back of the bib.
General Event FAQ
Q: How long is the course?
A: The 5K is 3.1 miles.
Q: How will I be timed?
A: The race uses an electronic timing system that records race time and place via a transponder chip that will be given out at registration. Each individual competing in the 5K is required to use the race chip. Official times will not be recorded without a chip. There will be a clock at the finish line to view your time.
Q: When and where do I pick up my registration materials?
A: See schedule above.
Q: Can I use my own race chip or tag rather than utilizing the one that is provided?
A: No, every participant has an assigned bib and chip.
Q: Who gets a T-shirt?
A: The first 2,000 pre-registered runners that successfully complete the registration and payment processes are guaranteed a free race t-shirt. (sizes not guaranteed)
Q: What if I need help along the way?
A: Qualified emergency medical professionals are available to provide assistance at the start/finish lines.
Q: Can I participate in the event with my dog?
A: Sorry, as much as we love our pets too, the safety of participants is our main concern. Therefore, we do not allow pets on the course.
Q: Can I participate with a stroller?
A: Yes, nurturing future generations of runners is a priority and demonstrating healthy lifestyles to our kids is special. Please, however, start in the later part of the runners.
Q: What do I do with my personal items while I’m running?
A: You can leave your items in your car or have a family member watch over your personal belongings.
Q: Should I bring my own water?
A: Water will be provided on the race course as well as at the finish line.
Q: Where do I park?
A: Arriving 1 hour early is strongly recommended due to traffic congestion. Area parking garages available, hourly rates may apply.
