Last Time in Chester

Orlando City B’s last trip north to Chester, Pennsylvania on March 26 of last year also served as the Club’s 2023 MLS NEXT Pro regular season opener. The Lions started things off on a high note, winning the match over Philadelphia Union II by a 3-1 scoreline, with goals from Abdi Salim, Cristofer Acuña and eventual MLS NEXT Pro Golden Boot winner and MVP Jack Lynn. Salim’s goal in the match served as his first-ever professional goal.

Fouls Suffered

OCB midfielder Jhon Solís has been near the top of the league in terms of fouls suffered so far this season, currently tied for third in MLS NEXT Pro heading into Matchday 4 with 10 suffered to this point in the year. Solís’ 10 fouls suffered for Orlando City B this season make him the most fouled player in MLS NEXT Pro’s Eastern Conference and have earned the young Lions the second-most free kicks in the Eastern Conference (51), trailing only Columbus Crew 2 (65) in the conference.

Season Debuts

The Lions saw multiple players make their 2024 MLS NEXT Pro regular season debuts in the Club’s last match against Inter Miami CF II on April 2. Orlando City First Team defender Abdi Salim, goalkeeper Javier Otero, midfielders Jeorgio Kocevski and Shak Mohammed, and forward Jack Lynn all made their season debuts in the match, as did Orlando City B midfielder Diego Pareja who returned from a season-long injury that kept him off the field for the 2023 season.

On the Road Again

Despite Orlando City B’s last match against Inter Miami CF II being classified as a “home match” the Lions have yet to play a match at their home ground of Osceola County Stadium, with the match against Miami being played at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. OCB will face two more matches on the road before finally returning to Kissimmee and Osceola County Stadium on Sunday, April 28 when the Club hosts Toronto FC II.
