Chasing First Against Crown

Orlando City B will face off against Crown Legacy FC this weekend, with the Lions looking to take their first-ever win against the North Carolina-based side. Crown Legacy has won both meetings against OCB in the two clubs' previous meetings, after a campaign that saw Crown finish first in the Eastern Conference last season. Ahead of Crown Legacy by one point so far in 2024, the Lions will look to expand that gap and take the win.

Fredo Found It

Lions’ forward Wilfredo Rivera opened his 2024 account for OCB in the Lions’ last match against Philadelphia Union II. The former Orlando City Homegrown player scored the equalizer for OCB in the 30th minute, after the side went down to Union II in the 11th, calmly slotting it into the top left corner and around the Philly goalkeeper. The tally was Rivera’s fifth all time for the young Lions.

Yutaro Assist

2024 MLS SuperDraft selection Yutaro Tsukada provided the helper on Rivera’s 30th-minute equalizer against Union II, recording his first professional assist and helping to secure at least a point for the Lions on the afternoon. After scoring his first professional goal on a free kick against Atlanta United 2 in OCB’s season opener, Tsukada now leads the Lions in total goal contributions to this point in the campaign.

Road Warriors

The Lions have spent three of their first four matches to start their 2024 campaign as the away team, with their one “home” match being played at IMG Academy as a neutral-site matchup at Generation adidas Cup. Of those three road matches, Orlando City B was able to take at least a point away from each matchup, taking a win over Atlanta United 2 and securing the extra point at Huntsville City FC via the end-of-regulation shootout. OCB will look to continue its form on the road before returning to Kissimmee and Osceola County Stadium on Sunday, April 28 when the Club hosts Toronto FC II.
